Hi all, have been lurking several days. We are nearing making a purchase offer on a 1979 Prairie 29. Pretty good shape, in water. Has Perkins 4.108 with approx 3200 hours. Working generator and working windless. No bow thruster.

Would certainly enjoy PM or phone call from other prairie 29 owners with .108 engines. If we make offer, will do a mechanical/engine survey to confirm all before money exchange.

We are purchasing with intent to do the great loop next year.

Good luck with the purchase and the loop. I'm sorry but I have no experience with that motor, but I'm sure you will find someone on this forum that does.

We are still several years away from retirement and the loop.
