Californian, Seaswirl, Brig, all others sold.
The latch on our house door no longer locks.
It's a big honk'n fiberglass slider on a Carver Californian. 1989 vintage.
The existing mechanism looks like it may have come from Perko, but not listed in their catalog.
Looking for a supplier as a general web search has not produced a result.
Thanks for your help!

Have no idea what you have but boatoutfitters.com has a lot of latches and hardware.

Pictures? Any clues on branding or model or whatever on the unit? Or on the key?

When I am looking for the un know parts, I would google "marine sliding door latch" and look at the images. Then use variations of the search for different images. I am amazed how often I can find what i am looking for.

Yes, I should have taken some fotos..... My bad. I will do that next time I am at the boat, which requires a plane ticket. The key is an antique looking Mortise Key. No marketings on anything, although it has a Perko knob. I suspect that was a replacement.

I always take photos of whatever I am working on. Although I am lucky in that during the summer my boat is 75’ out the back door. In the winter the barn is 3 miles away. Get all the information you can and then look for an old school locksmith. They may be able to help you find something that will work. I had a locksmith when I had my property management business in Tucson that could find anything for me. But he had been a locksmith for many many years.

That's a good recommendation, thanks. Photos are on the way. Wondering if a "real" locksmith could actually repair the exiting mechanism if we cannot find a direct replacement, as the current unit involves holes cut in the fiberglass door.

The DuckDuckGo image search is your friend. Search until you find a part that looks like the one you are replacing and go from there.

Certainly a possibility.

Found the manufacturer!
The Brass Works Inc, out of DeLand FL. The name is not all they do. These guys do a lot of military door equipment, and the Navy likes brass, bronze, & stainless.
Worth checking out the site, so you remember where to look.
Thanks for the advice Captains!

Not aware they manufacture stuff, but... they're the US distributor for Schwepper products, and got us squared away with replacement lock parts for our TaylorMade sliding glass door. Good service.
