On a 2006 MS400, I would like to re-bed the helm chair pedestal base, table frame bases, stair/aft rail stanchion bases and mast base. Does anyone know if each of these attach points are thru bolted or not? Also, if anyone has re-bedded any of these bases, are there any concerns I need to be aware of?
Thank you.

I'm not certain, but I think there is some info on this on the stella blue site. He pulled down his headliner to access either the table or the helm seat.

I tried to pull up my table to rebed it, and could not get the screws loose, despite judicious force with an impact driver. I think they may be bedded in an aluminum plate of some sort.

Sorry to not be more help.

Doug

In older models, like the 1999 -2003 350/390 they glassed in a backing plate, then tapped the backing plate and used machine screws. At least that is how they installed the cleats. They 350/390 have a solid fiberglass ceiling. There is no headliner to remove. I strongly suspect the mast and seat are installed the same way as the cleats.

I'd be very surprised if they used washers and nylocs there.

Thank you Doug and SHroo for your responses. Doug, from your recommendation, I did review the Stella Blue site and found some information that was helpful. Barring any other factory information and what I have found thus far, I plan to partially back out a fastener from each mount point to determine if they are sheet metal or machine screw type threads and go from there.

Let us know what you find out.

Btw, I also rebedded the screws in the rail bass going around the stair opening to the fly bridge, which is a known point of failure on MS400. I pulled all the screws and potted the holes in epoxy. While I was doing this I tried to pull the other stanchions and cocktail table as well. It appears to me that anywhere something is directly attached to nonskid there is no backing plate. Where there are raised, smooth FG bases there are plates or maybe solid glass.

The main fb table seems to be an exception to this rule.
