Hi group,
Looking at the single engine Mainship 390 for coastal cruising. We have a berth available which would allow the Mainship to lie in around 1-2 ft water and 4+ft mud at low water in a well sheltered harbour area. We believe the propeller and shaft are suitably protected in this configuration. Our concern is the rudder in this scenario, which we believe has no lower strengthening and join to the keel. Has anyone done a post manufacture bracing to protect the rudder? Would this actually be required?
Currently on the berth is a Camano 31 which has no issue as the rudder is connected at the bottom to a keel plate extension .
Any other single engine trawler type boats offering similar accommodation and pricing US$150,000?
Look forward to your inputs.
Many thanks
Rogew
