Hi,
I've been lurking, reading and dreaming for a while and really have found this site to be invaluable. My wife and I are nearing the empty nesting phase, are avid day boaters on the Chesapeake (27 ft dual console we keep at our home in White Stone, VA) and we're dreaming about having more range and capability and the ability to either be weeks long cruising vacationers and maybe someday more.
I think our current dream/plan is to buy a ~40 ft coastal cruising boat in the next 2-3 years that we can anchor at our home dock (prior owner had a 42' Sabre) and use for exploring the east coast, and then eventually assuming we love that as much as we think we will, upgrade to larger boat we can use as a second home wherever in the world it happens to be - maybe even buy one in the PNW vs sticking to the Chesapeake.
