Good afternoon TF members; A few months ago we apparently suffered a lightning strike per the marine electrician. It hit the water near our boat and travelled through our port engine (Volvo IPS drives) through the shore power cord ground and out the pedestal cooking the Y splitter and the pedestal plug. One of the port side computers and the EVC control were also fried and required replacement. The A/C breaker was tripped the other was not. Our dock neighbor who shares the pedestal had no issues with his electric.

All damaged items have been replaced including then pedestal, here's our issue. The new pedestal has the new high tech GFCI which trip at 10 mA vs the older which tripped at 30 mA. We've been at 11 marinas and only had one instance at a marina with the new system, A/C side tripped. I have two 30 A shore power cords, one for the A/C and one for the boat's circuits. The A/C cord trips the new breaker whether or not the A/C is on, the other cord and circuit works fine. Both shore power cords have been replaced and both A/C units work on shore power when plugged into an older pedestal and also on the generator circuit. The electrician wasn't sure about why it happened and I didn't want to replace both ISOs if not needed.

Boat is a 2008 Beneteau Flyer 12 built in France. I'd appreciate any comments and input, TYIA. Ed
