Hi all,

Firstly, thank you to all the regular contributors, we have both learned much from so many of the forum discussions over the last three years.

We recently came across an interesting product> Hatch visor supplied by Seaworthy goods.

The Style looks good and seems very easy to apply, practical and would reduce the need to rush downstairs and close all our hatchets every time it rains. Lots of summer storms in sydney.
The installation is via some type of double sided tape ? and wondered how long before they fall off?
has any one ahd any expereince with the product ?? Looks great and the reviews on the web site are very positive.

Look forward to your feedback including any other way of solving the issue.

We put them on our last boat and they stayed until I replaced the ports and had to take them off. They were still firmly stuck on. This was about 4 years.

We have them and leave the windows open rain or shine unless the A/C is on. Ths keeps the boat much cooler in the hot weather. The only time they didn't work to keep the water out was when we hit gale force winds on the bow in Penobscot Bay but in <6'ers or longer period waves, the do fine. They don't fall off even when kicked and have been on for about 9 years now.

We have had them for somewhere around 9-10 years and are quite happy with them. They work, they have survived well and still look clear, they have not been a trip or bump hazard.

Hey, Thank you for the feedback, they do look great and fit for purpose! Will go ahead and send pics when the job is done !!

Plus one to Clark’s response. On our 36 ft Monk design we only close our ports in Gale wind rain or when in weather we shouldn’t have been out in. Our shields stood the test of three AICW trips, Maine to Halifax and return, Two winters in the Bahamas and the Great Loop.
We have no AC so depend on good ventilation.
We store our boat on a ball in Camden Maine and always leave the ports open.

We use a similar brand. They work well. After I installed with the double sided tape, I added caulk. That was about 8 years ago . They work great
