Just installed a Jabsco Par-Max HD6 freshwater pump for my water system. (The pump comes with 3/4" fittings. My boat's 1/2" and getting Xylem/Flo-jet/Jabsco fittings that are 3/4" quad x 1/2" barb just doesn't seem possible.) Connected it to the Jabsco accumulator tank. Switched on the breaker and the pump pushed water fine. But when I shut off the tap, it refused to power down and ran until the breaker tripped. I surmised it was a poorly set pressure switch. Tweaked the chrome screw dead center on the pump face and now it works fine. Jabsco wrote me that the pump pressure switch is not adjustable so not sure what that screw does, but it works now.

Do you remember if you tightened or loosened the screw ?

Have the exact same problem with a new pressure switch installed. Used to run solidly (washdown) with good pressure, now it pulses.

Thx.

No I sure don’t. But you only have 2 choices! Oh, 3 actually. You can also toss the entire $()!(;!! thing overboard, which is what I got close to doing! Good luck

Well this is interesting! My fresh pump, same one, was shutting off when in the shower, would just stop flow, and not trip the breaker. I replaced the $200 Jabsco pump with a new one that cross referenced. Now, the pump run's fine, at full speed then trips the breaker.......well that's new! I tried to pull the breaker out, but it wouldn't budge (10AMP). Was gonna replace it with a 15 amp breaker to hopefully solve the problem. Tried heat, losening the ones around it, prying, nothing. Anyway, it seems if I leave it half flow, it stays on, which is livable, but not ideal. Following.........

I'll be up at the boat tommorrow, so I'll take a look at the screw you are referring to and see that changes anything!

The pressure regulator on ours went out so I removed the old one and searched for the part number stamped on the switch. Found a replacement sensor/switch but when it arrived the mounting holes did not match. Ended up drilling new mounting holes in the pump housing since the switch itself was obviously the same even if the housing was changed to force the purchase of a new pump.

Now I need to try the little screw to see if I can get it to stop cycling.
