I am looking at purchasing a 2009 island pilot 435 for the great loop any comments
In general Island Packets are very well built boats. I cruised up and down the east coast and the Bahamas on one of their sailboats.

Thanks for your infoFor those like me who are not familiar, here's a listing for 2009 IP pilothouse. This one has an interesting radar mast on port side of foybridge that appears to hinge laterally to starboard to reduce air draft.
Looks like a nice boat. There are others with more experience in the Loop who can comment on any concerns. Personally, I've always been intrigued by Great Lakes' region boats. Often stored indoors during the winter and show near new condition.

Thanks ChrisIsland Pilot and Island Packet same builder?
Mike, the Island Pilot in the listing Peter posted has Volvo IPS drives. If you're not familiar you should do some research on pros/cons of pod drives, and specifically the Volvo version for this case. For example, you couldn't change gear oil on early versions from inside the boat; needed to haul out. Seal issues early versions, also... eventually evolved to better, I think. Annual maintenance, and associated costs. Et cetera.
I don't suggest you should avoid; just better if you proceed with eyes wide open.

Yes it’s hinged should be no issues with bridge clearanceDepending on which route you take, air draft (bridge clearance) can be under 16'. While I assume that the radar mast will lower, you should completely understand what's involved.

Passagemaker magazine did a good write up called "Island Pilot in the Islands" updated April 21, 2017
It’s nice to have optionsI'm sure you could loop on that boat, but I'd question the rationale of choosing it specifically for looping.
Do you need the speed?
Of course. But usually there is some compromise involved. It’s nice to have options
