I have an i5 and thought to try my direct tv reciever . Its an hr24 i use in the motorhome and with the motorhome dish i have swmi .I set the intellian to 101 and set the dish to 18inch round single lnb. where i am having trouble is swmi . Intellian was not helpful and had no idea how to connect. Noe that i am home i am wondering if i should have tried setting it to multi switch. I know with previos dish models in the motorhome i needed to use b band converters.
I figure someone here uses direct tv.

Hmm, if you can’t get it to work I am selling my KVH TV6 with direcTV box, all working, for a song! See my post…

I have an i 3 with direct TV. If I remember the maldi switch is the correct selection selection. And I 100% agree with you that Intellian tech is of no help. And in fact do not seem like they know what they're even talking about

I went to the boat and set the receiver on muti switch -single tuner and set sat on 101 and got signal. I then hooked up the second cable the the receiver and ran the setup again with 2 tuners and ran into the controller not maintaining a connection with 101. It would track for a few seconds then searching then track and so on. I will call intellian tomorrow.Perhaps two tuners is not the same as two receivers.

I spent another couple hours on the boat today playing with the dish. Ironically we dont hardly watch the tv but i just cant help but want things to work correctly. What i noticed was the signal strength indicted on the receiver was 30 to 40 percent tops.I have always seen a lot higher signal strength on any systems i have set up. Now i am wondering if the dish is not aiming correctly or perhaps a damaged rf cable. Always something.

I think i got it working. Intellian sent me some software and i was able to log into the antenna controller and there were some sensitivity settings that were set to high. He is not sure how the settings were off since they are built into the software version. The bottom line is i would never have gotten it to work correctly by changing receivers and the like. The system has worked poorly from day one. So far it hasn't lost signal.
