The good news is that Markel was willing to insure the boat for either a liability only policy or a full hull insurance which would require a haul out and survey. In 2017 the liability only was $315. Now for $500k of liability it is $1300. Boating is getting expensive. The West Marine store here in New Bern NC has bottom paint for $400+.
