Asked myself that question about every boat I've owned, or even looked at.And how do I justify it even then.
I agree it is not a 65 LRC. If the guy can look at the starboard hull there will be a marking with a hull id. It could be a Hatt but not an LRC. If it is a Hatt the hull ID will Show hATAX.Not a Hatt. Don't know what it is. But not a Hatt. Deck house comes further forward on a Hatt and there's a certain 'flatness' to the brow on Hatts. It's a motor yacht. There are some 65 LRC's for sale in the USA.While similar in quite a few ways to the Hatteras LRC, I can tell you in no uncertain terms - this is not a Hatteras. It may be a great boat, but just not a Hatteras.
BTW, All Hatteras LRC 58 and 65 ( not sure about the 42 or 48) came with Detroits. They were normally aspirated, so that would be another clue
