I have the high water alarm made by Ultra Safety Systems. Of course the PO left no manual. I can not find much on the internet other than it may require two 9 volt batteries. Where are they located? Behind this cover? Hoping someone has the same system. Thanks.
And sorry for the sideways picture. Couldn't figure how to turn it.

I would guess they're behind the cover or some compartment close by. Might be worth tracing the wire up from the float switch.

Might also be worth while changing the piezo buzzer to a 12 VDC version, wiring it to your house battery, and forgetting the 9 volt batteries. Lots of places like ebay that sell those buzzers with a DC voltage range from 8 to 16 volts.

We just put an alarm system in our new boat from Borel Manufacturing. We put one of them in our last boat and loved it. Very easy to install. Can monitor exhaust temperature, high water and water in fuel for the Racors.

I believe this alarm system uses an independent source of power in the event the bilge pump depletes the batteries, the alarm will still sound.

Thanks all for your postings. Found the 9V batteries as in Larry's posted picture. Four screws on the front and then 4 screws on the back side gets you access. One of the battery's had a 2013 marking. No wonder it didn't test! Not the first item overlooked by the PO either.
So, now both alarms test I guess all that's left is to ensure the alarm will actually work with high water. Assume I can just turn off the bilge pump and fill with water higher than the float switch? Will try after launch this spring.
Yes I do like the Borel products. I plan to install their loss of raw water alarm sometime this spring.
