Happy Mother's Day and hope everyone is having a great weekend! Thanks for the add. I am getting a new to me 1980 Marine Trader Pilothouse 48' with twin Lehman 120's that i have absolutely no experience with. I'll be picking through the forums and threads for lots of help i'm sure.

Congratulations. I hope the boat serves you well and take you afar, at least where you want to go. with minimal repairs and rework.

If your work requires wiring then look into coatings for corrosion resistance. DiElectric grease along with Pipe cleaners for the coating application will help a lot with corrosion resistance.
My boat, I have had now for about 40 yeas, since 1985 and on all wiring I used NoAlox, a common electrical coating for use in areas prone to corrosion or any kind.. Now I use the dielectric grease.

Use it for ANY/ALL wiring or redos you do including the wiring connectors and terminal strips.. You don't need gobs, just a good coating.

Welcome aboard. Lots of great info on Lehman 120s here. I have the same motors on my Cheoy Lee Pilothouse Trawler and am hoping to learn to adjust valves on it this year.
Little by little I am venturing into more details on my motors and transmissions. Brian at American Diesel is a goldmine of information and sells all the parts and spares at fair prices. Gotta get his number on your speed dial.

Best of luck. Safe cruising.

Welcome aboard, and what generator? It is almost guaranteed to give you more trouble than those Lehmans ever will.
