I am a ‘land lubber’ Ma & Pa gold miner who is repowering (48hp diesel) a 26’Tollycraft . So no you are not crazy! Our boat is currently under a good bit of snow (on the hard at home)

I might be a little biased but you've chosen a great boat! We owned an Albin 28TE for ten years and moved up to our 35CB two years ago. The 30FC is a bit of a rarity, but has a lot in common with the 28TE. I think (hope) it's OK to post here that there's an Albin Owners Group - Albin Owners Group - AOG Main (full disclosure - I'm the admin). There's also an active Albin group on Facebook - Log into Facebook. Congratulations!

As far as Crazy. Just make sure the boat you buy can do what you want AND more. I have grown out of more boats rather than growing into them.

The only thing crazy that I can think of is that shortly after you get this boat where you want it you will realize it is too small and then have to start all over again.
