I'm not much into social media so don't expect too much. In fact I am just not terribly social. But I have been heading south from San Francisco Bay since early January. I am trying to post something on Instagram each day. If you have any interest you can find it at @double.wide48

You don't need to be social, just post an interesting picture with a description (if necessary) every now and then. Lots of us like to see the view from the water, especially when it's unusual.

Hey Bill. Following you on Instagram, much as I have been following your adventure building Double Wide for what, 20 years? Light winds and following seas, sir. You are a fine engineer, that is for sure, and I am sure your boat will reflect same. Glad to see this dream coming to fruition. Safe travels.

We are in Marina De La Paz but are leaving in a couple of weeks for a few years adventure.

Perhaps we will cross paths?

I saw earlier that you were heading back north. With reasonable seas I should be in La Paz within 2 weeks and will look for you.

We will be arriving back in La Paz around Feb. 5 but hopefully leaving for Loreto a few days later. We will look for you.
Welcome to the Sea of Cortez, you are going to like it.

Thanks for the note, Bill. I have been to the SoC several times but not in my boat. Looking forward to spending extended time there. What boat should I expect to see in the SoC? I intend to operate mostly out of Loreto

Hey Bill,
We will be on DOMINO, the 65' power cat so will be easy to spot. That is, until April. We have been commuters to the SOC for the last four Winters, but this will be our last. DOMINO is scheduled to load on a ship in April for the trip home to the PNW for good. Because we have been commuters and because we are not generally around during hurricane season, we have needed a permanent slip and that has become a ridiculous proposition in the face of the rising popularity of the region. It is nice down there for part of the year, but they have found my limit in terms of the cost of being a boater there. No longer makes sense for us.
We have had our fun and ready to move on.

You will also see my boat dos Peces right Across from Bills, except that we to are leaving. Unlike Bill, we will return in a couple of years, but the voices are calling us to go exploring.

When we are done we will return to La Paz as that is where we call home.
