I have a bunch of work lined up on my boat that I’d prefer to do on the hard. It’s due for the bottom to be repainted anyway, which I’m fine paying a vendor to do, but I prefer to do the rest myself. I have a $500k liability insurance policy on it currently, since that might matter to yards.

Looking for a yard in the fort pierce, Stuart, Palm beaches area that allows non-vendor (ie, owner and my friends) to work on the boat. Pretty sure Indiantown is out, although I haven’t called them directly to ask.

Any suggestions? I’d like to haul in March.

Seminole Boatyard in Palm Beach Gardens is good and they allow you to do your own work. If you have vendors they need insurance.

Cracker Boy Boat Works. Ft. Pierce, FL.
Make sure you understand their rules (which are strictly enforced) regarding material purchases and contractors.

If you're willing to come a little further north, there is Westland Boatyard in Titusville.

Thank you for the suggestion, I have a haul out scheduled with Cracker Boy yard in January. Moved up my timeline a bit to address some things.

Wherever you decide to haul out, be it Cracker Boy, or elsewhere, as suggested above, make sure you understand their rules, like do you have to purchase your materials from the boatyard, do they add a surcharge on all outside materials brought in, and do they add a surcharge on the bill outside vendors may charge for services rendered.
Not understanding their rules can lead to a $$ surprise come splash day!
Best of luck with your haul-out.

It looks like they charge about $1600 a month for outside long-term dry storage. Three month minimum. Does that seem reasonable? I have inside heated storage in Michigan for $1200 a month over 7 months. And I thought that was pricey.
Not sure where you're reading that. From what I'm reading, long term storage in the non working area is $4.50 per foot under 44', and $5 per foot over 45'.

So a 50' boat in the non working, long term storage area is $250 per month.

Scott, Are you perhaps confusing Glades Boat Storage with River Forest Yachting Center storage, just down the Caloosahatchee Canal? That rate is about right for them. . . .

Yep, I'm scheduled with Cracker Boy and they sent me their rules. Gotta buy paint from them, and I'm ok with that.

I'm willing to pay a small (large?!) premium for a local place since its <30 mins from my house and I'm going to be running back and forth from home to yard while I get these projects done.

As transients we've hauled twice at Westland.
Harf to beat with ability to do own work or contract, live aboard, good lounge and showers and laundry.
Really hard to find a complaint.

Elysium hauled out yesterday at Cracker Boy.

While on the hard we’ll (meaning, me) be doing a seacock repair, generator exhaust thru hull repair, bottom paint, and full zinc replacement. Then some basic cosmetic maintenance on the hullsides.

Put back in today after getting her fresh bottom paint, all new zincs, two new seacocks, a new generator exhaust thru hull, and some cosmetic work
