We use Samsung Galaxy Tab A9's. I know a lot of people like IPAD's, but we prefer the Samsung's. They're a LOT less expensive than an IPAD too, and do the same stuff. No subscriptions necessary to utilize the GPS like some IPAD'sHere's an example:
We have e-mail, Navionics, and the normal stuff on two of these. One is always on, and mounted next to our Chartplotter when we are underway, as a backup. And the two are synced for route planning, etc.

Similar to @slowgoesit , we use a Samsung tablet. Costco seems to always have a decent one for a couple hundred bucks. Works as expected.
