Probably of interest to anybody owning a Given's life raft, apparently the company recently filed for bankruptcy. In spite of an apparent decent product quality, there have been ongoing complaints about their service and delivery over the past couple of years. I guess a company is only as good as its reputation!! Hopefully, existing Givens customers will be able to get service/parts elsewhere.

In the past few months I*have heard of numerous ppl who paid for rafts they never got, including the liferaft servicer who currently has my Givens in hand for repacking.* There are still lots of service centers though not sure there will be anyone around to "authorize" then anymore.* I guess as long as you use someone reputable to repack you should be ok,*though there'll be pieces and parts that will be impossible to come by now...* hopefully I'll never need any of those.* sigh.
