Fuel tank replacement - I just picked up my new tanks for my GB 42 from the fabricator. He's a one man shop located in Quincy, Mass.

Derek worked thru my design with me, and the pricing was very competitive. My tanks were on time and on budget.

Not sure why they came up as thumbnails, but here's a lower resolution picture of my beautiful tanks

Nice Tanks. Is that just for one side?
Bud

Hi Bud. Yes, three for each side. I was on a friend's 42 and his were done that way. They fit in the cabin door. I'm not sure if I need to move the generator a little yet. I'm still painting the bilge.

My original tanks weren't leaking but the tops were degraded from deck leaks over the years. I was clearing a blocked vent line and the top fitting snapped off the tank, so it was time.

I'm doing one side this year and have already ordered the 3 for the other side. Next winter's project.

255 gallons total vs the original 300. I kept them a few inches shorter so I could see or possibly access any future issues.

I'll post some more pics when they're in.

The problem is that the iPhone saves the files as .heic which this site apparently doesn't support (many sites don't). I think you can configure your phone to save in .jpg which everybody supports.

Nice work. Send more pics as you make progress

There are many free heic to jpg converters available. HEIC uses less space but is apple-centric.

Be very careful with free image converters. Many include a malicious payload as well as the working image converter.
