Does anybody know what size pencil zinc I need in the heat exchanger for a 120HP Ford Lees? And yes it is a 'Lees' not a Lehman. NZ marinised version of the same Ford block.

I have the manual and it shows a schematic and part number, but not the dimensions. Have searched online and can't find any info. If no luck, next step is to remove the existing one and take my own measurements, but thought I would ask.

There are two places at Boatworks Coomera that sell pencil zincs of various sizes, but of course I need to know what size is needed.

I don't know your engine at all so this is just a suggestion.
Have you actually asked the potential supplier? They may know what you need.

Also be carefull of the length of the anode. If too long you may damage the heat exchanger tubes breaking the solder joint causing a leak and repair/replacement.

I do have some experience with that.

Just take it out and take it with you. OR buy 2 of every size.

I have 2 ford lees 6 cyl gensets on board. Contact Cathodic Anodes Australia. Part Number is CDZ9-034 They will have them on the shelf and a great Qld company to deal with. Ph 0754769788

Its the anode holder thread that you need to worry about. Anode length can be adjusted with a hacksaw when fitting.

Yeah all sorted now. I removed it and took the cap with me and tried different sizes until I found the right one.

Thanks for the source. Much appreciated. I am all sorted now, but will definitely file this away for another time.

And this place is just up the road from where I live. Thanks again.

I buy my engine, hull and shaft anodes from CAA. (that amounts to a tonne of $$$$).
I find their pricing is very acceptable and great customer service.
Glad you got sorted out OK
