• Trawler Forum Classified Posting Guidelines
    • We expect ads placed to be related to the topic of this forum.
    • Ads that are inactive for 180 days or longer may be moved to the Classified Archive and locked. Ads may be relisted if the item is still current. Alternatively, owners may contact a Moderator to reinstate an archived ad.
    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)
    • Don't post links to commercial sites where you are also offering the boat, such as eBay, Craigslist or Yachtworld, etc. unless it contains a more in-depth description, additional information or pictures.
    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)
    • Don't forget to select: FOR SALE, WANTED or FREE in the Title block.
All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. When your item has sold or the ad is no longer relevant: Please post a Reply to the ad that the item is SOLD or click "Report Post" on post 1 of the thread to ask a moderator to archive the ad. Ads may be moved or removed by our staff at any time for any reason. All ads must comply with site rules. Thanks for your cooperation.
  • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

While not a conventional "trawler", this Glacier Bay 2270 catamaran has been completely remodeled and upgraded to be an extended off-grid cruiser!

Price Reduced!! Only $69,000! Unexpected financial circumstances forcing sale.

Fully upgraded and customized 2004(2024) Glacier Bay 2270 22ft catamaran, meticulously rebuilt from scratch over 2022-2024 into a self-sufficient micro-cruising jewel.

This is an off-grid fishing/cruising machine - 7.2kWh (600Ah) of lithium house batteries and 700W of solar panels, all running 24/7!

Refrigerator will run indefinitely on solar/lithium, cabin AC will run 28 hours on ECO with no sun at all!! Add to that shore power with 120V inverter and chargers, custom hard top and full 3-season enclosure, brand new fuel tanks, and a brand new all-aluminum trailer with stainless steel brakes and LED lighting!!

I have nearly $100,000 dollars and over 1000 man-hours into all of these refit and upgrades! All built to the highest standards.

Google all of the typical problems with Glacier Bay catamarans - bilge pump hoses, bilge pump exits, aft hatch covers, bow rail studs, fuel tanks - EVERY SINGLE ISSUE has been eliminated. Permanently.

Cut-and-paste the link into your browser for more informatino and a PDF file with TONS of detailed information and 80+ photos!!

This boat is designed for a specific kind of adventurer: someone who values a compact, easy-to-handle vessel equipped with top-tier systems for safety, reliability, and independence on the water. Drawing on my 30 years of cruising experience and over 10,000 nautical miles on vessels up to 50,000 lbs, I’ve tailored SEAWEED to excel in both function and simplicity.

As a retired engineer with 30 years experience and a touch of OCD, I personally invested over 1,000 hours of labor into these upgrades—a fun hobby that became a labor of love. Now, all this extra value is yours for the taking. SEAWEED is ready today for your next adventure.

- 2017 140hp Suzuki outboards, ~560hrs
- 700W solar panels on a custom lightweight articulating hardtop (raises and lowers)
- 600Ah of lithium house batteries
- 2500BTU cabin air conditioner
- Solar-powered refrigerator/cooler
- Brand new fuel tanks
- Brand new high-end all aluminum 2024 trailer with stainless brakes and LED's
- New upholstery inside and out
- 100% all new electrical wiring and components
- 2000W inverter
- Custom cabin headliner
- New full Sunbrella/Eisenglass/screen enclosure and Sunbrella storage cover
- MUCH, much more!

Look at all the other Glacier Bays for sale, AND THEN come and look at SEAWEED. No comparison.

Boat is located in/around Spring Hill, FL.

Hubby Dan and I went to see this boat.

This Glacier Bay is underpriced, because it is far superior now to any brand new 2270.

Go to the website and download the PDF, pour yourself a cup of coffee, and read through the improvements that Ray has made to this vessel. You will be astounded. It is even more astounding to see it and feel it and experience it in person.

Ray answered all of our questions in great detail, and was gracious and kind throughout the showing.

You could do the Great Loop on this vessel. Or just do a week's cruise when you have the time. It is set up to cruise with no worries.

And Ray - boathealer - is the most knowledgeable person you will ever meet regarding boat systems. He had lived on, and vastly improved, a Great Harbor trawler for many years. He is highly regarded in the Great Harbor community for not only his knowledge, but also for being helpful and encouraging.

(I really, really wanted to buy this boat. Unfortunately for me, Hubby Dan was determined to instead budget for a metal roof and an extravagant solar array w batteries for our dirt home. I could not convince him that a new boat was a better return on investment. Sigh.)

Cheers,
Mrs. Trombley

Do you have a GVW with her all loaded up on the trailer?

I'm looking but my truck is limited to 7500 lbs towing capacity and hadn't considered a cat or even mono with twins because of the weight.

Thank you for the question! Here are all the measurements I have made:

On Trailer
---------
Height -10ft 6in hardtop down, 12ft 0in hardtop up.
Length overall with tongue and engines down - 30ft
Empty boat on trailer weight - 5750lbs (incl. trailer)
All-up (full tanks, cruising gear) on trailer weight - 7320lbs (incl. trailer)

On the Water
-------------
Draft: 20in - engines up - prop to bottom of hulls.
Air draft hardtop up: 7ft 10in, hardtop down: 6ft4in
LOA: 24ft engines down, 26ft engines up

Thanks.... I wish you well with it, if still around at the end of Oct... will sniff again.

Leave tomorrow early for Michigan and cooler temps by land yacht. See if the fish up there aren't hiding in dark, pool halls with cool drinks like the Ft Pierce fishies. :peace:

Exactly why I need a bigger boat to run offshore....:speed boat:

No worries. Good luck and be safe up there!

From one with CDO (OCD in alphabetical order as it should be) to to another with OCD, That's Really Impressive! Tip of the hat to you.

Ted

Thank you, sir - you are much too kind. Hope all is well with you and yours....

Hope you recover from your disease (NOT!) LOL!

Hi Ray, I have sent you a direct message here as well as an email to your boathealer email address. Thank you.

Well, my time is up. :( House is on the market, we're moving, and cannot take the boat. Sacrifice price - first person with $45k takes her home. This is less than *HALF* of rebuild cost! All the details at Details/Downloads | My Site There's no other boat out there like this.

Wow, beautiful job on the refit. Just curious, what is the beam? Or did I miss it somewhere in the specs?

Thank you for your very kind words!! Standard trailerable 8'6" beam....

I like to see others that do work similar to what I want to do with my boats.
