I just go word that today (New Year's Eve), a fire under the historic boardwalk in Telegraph Cove has burnt down the Whale Museum and the restaurant. Sounds like a mess.

Many thoughts bouncing around in my brain, a person who was born less than a mile from Telegraph Cove in the 40s and lived it during a time when it functioned as intended, a coastal sawmill.

Telegraph Cove Resort was put up for sale at 12 million in August.

No fire protection on the side of the cove with a pub, restaurant and houses.

The big losers, in my opinion, are Jim and Mary Borrowman who dedicated nearly 50 years to assembling marine mammal skeletons for the non-profit Whale Interpretive Centre.
