Just thought someone might benefit from an inexpensive solution to my Grand Banks 42 door lock issues. Port and Starboard sides both had issues. I looked for replacements, then decided that both doors need major overhauls aside from the Perko (?) locks. I will replace the original locks in the future.

I came up with a temporary solution that is both practical and cost effective. As an added perk, I can give my guests the combination in case I am not there, and do not have to leave a hidden key. I used two hasps, and lock it open when aboard.

Please excuse the sad nature of the "bright" work, I just bought the boat and work on her on the weekends.

Looks just like my boat, stop apologizing.

Yeah, I'll get to that varnishing after some other crap I need to attend to eh?

Been searching for weeks, someone has to have changed the door locks out, doubt I find the new, looked extensively for a spring that would fit the old cage, not happening.

I did something similar to the hasp on a previous boat. It worked well.
