Southern FL, Ft Pierce area.Where are you located?
Have you tried Sailorman, in Ft. Lauderdale?Southern FL, Ft Pierce area.
The calipers are plastic but fairly accurate for what it is. I will try to get a thread gauge. I may very well just end up having one made at a machine shop.If your (plastic?) calipers are accurate and you are measuring the outside of the exterior threads correctly, the size, (1.73" is what I see) is not the appropriate size for a 1.25" or 1.5" x 11.5 TPI NPSM thread.
It could be a 1.375"x 11 TPI British Straight Pipe Thread (a very rarely used size) that should measure 44.323 mm or 1.745" in outside diameter. If you get yourself a thread Gage you should be able to determine the TPI (Threads Per Inch) fairly easily or if you are proficient with the use of the calipers you can measure it.
If you think the thread is Metric (it is a Taiwanese boat) your measurement of 43.94 mm , say 44mm, does not correspond to any Metric thread size, which jump from 42 to 45 mm.
It is a good thing that you have one that fits as that will be key to getting one made if that proves cheaper than the fibreglass repair work.
No, I have documentation that shows which yard in Taiwan it was made. Some President, Tayana and one particular Albin model was made there as well. My trawler was an economy almost one of a kind unit that was far from high end makes of the era.I can't make out the gauge very well, but looks like 1.73" SAE or 44mm metric.
Any chance the TT was actually made in Hong Kong?

Check out Victoryproducts.comNeed help finding a deck fill cap from a 1988 Taiwanese trawler.
It is a fine thread whereas most replacements I find are coarse thread.
See attached pictures for sizing. Thanks!
Thank you, but that web address doesn't seem to work. Can you check that please? Thanks!Check out Victoryproducts.com
They make a fitting supposedly for the thru deck fuel and water fill.
The Lord Nelson Victory Tugs have the same fine thread cap...........haven't had to buy one myself, but other LNVT owners have.
I had the same thought on my GB36 and came to find that a removable panel in/under the settee provided good access to the deck fill fitting and the tank top. Otherwise there would be no way to service/change the fill hose. One thing I neglected to say is that like many older boats, I cannot readily reach the fitting from underneath the deck so I cannot replace the whole flange without doing a major fiberglass job.
Seeing other replies, the correct website is Victory-products.com. I would ask them about a 'cap only'. Check your thread pattern again, as noted in other post.sCheck out Victoryproducts.com
