My FB and cabin compasses seem low on fluid, although still working, and the glass is greenish - like an old Coke bottle. I learned from my mechanic that the Danforth compass model A-115 compasses are not repairable, and a web search indicated that they are glued together, and not repairable.

I'm wondering what TF Camano owners' experience has been with compasses, especially if the same model, and what your choice of replacements have been, if yours needed replacement.

RDQ here - Really Dumb Question: After a mere 5 years of Camano ownership, I have not yet figured out what the "Navigation lights" - switch on the panel - are..... I did say RDQ....you were warned. Running lights all work great, very bright at a distance, colors true, anchor light good, but nothing seems to go on or off with the navigations light switch. Yes, I checked the manual, not addressed. So, if you're willing to share with somone who asks RDQs, please share about that.

Shamelessly,
NCheaven.....

Navigation Lights

I don't have an input to the compass, but I have the same curiosity as to the navigation light switch on the panel. This seems to be the on/off on my boat, hull #74. I do not have a "running light" switch near the helm.

I think a switch as you described, assumingly around the helm, makes more sense. Perhaps the PO thought the same and just rewired for ease of operation at night. Just a possibility.
