Still Boating

So, I haven't posted much because I've spent 5 years restoring an old boat, but here's my question:
Neglecting of course the many opinions about bulbous bows and their efficacy, I have a practical question:
Since I have made many modifications that might have affected trim, I used bootstripe tape for this season, not knowing how things would work out. My calculations were pretty good so that's nice.
Having said that, although the boot stripe is pretty much correct, when underway with the bulbous bow, the water "piles up" 6 inches as it's supposed to at the bow. It's perfect at rest.
For those of you that have bulbous bows, where did you paint on the bootstripe at the bow? Did you ignore the difference between at rest and underway water levels at the bow?
Thanks
