    • Ads that are inactive for 180 days or longer may be moved to the Classified Archive and locked. Ads may be relisted if the item is still current. Alternatively, owners may contact a Moderator to reinstate an archived ad.
    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)
    • Don't post links to commercial sites where you are also offering the boat, such as eBay, Craigslist or Yachtworld, etc. unless it contains a more in-depth description, additional information or pictures.
    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)
    • Don't forget to select: FOR SALE, WANTED or FREE in the Title block.
All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. When your item has sold or the ad is no longer relevant: Please post a Reply to the ad that the item is SOLD or click "Report Post" on post 1 of the thread to ask a moderator to archive the ad. Ads may be moved or removed by our staff at any time for any reason. All ads must comply with site rules. Thanks for your cooperation.
  • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.

Details to follow so but there will be a big sale on Epoch batteries with possibly the biggest discounts yet. Stay tuned for details. In the meantime if there are any questions, please feel free to ask here or message me direct.

Cool beans baby! I'm looking at the 460 essentials and it will fit in my space as it's smaller than the LiTime unit.

Just curious, what is the reason(s) to replace a LFP bank that is about 2 years old at most? These things are suppose to be good for say 3000 cycles. Are they worn out or did you damage them?

Not the whole bank, just House 1. House 2 is a parallel of (2) 300 AH LiTimes which work fine. House 1 is a 280 AH LiTime that I had FCP issues with. So I have 600 on one side of the switch and 280 on the other.

I can put the Epoch 460 on House 1 and the existing LiTime in my shed at home with the solar on the roof and replace the little battery with something that shouldn't run down ever. Even if I forget to turn the 12 volt lights off - :)

Well its Black Friday but can't find the 25% off epoch sale. Did I miss the boat on that sale?
Cheers J.T.

No sir..still going...
Go to Epoch Batteries and use code BF25
Let me know if you have any issues. Sending a PM.
Touch down Barking Sands and thank you. Ordered a 460 essential and will use it as a seconded house bank. I currently have 4 Epoch 100 amp batteries in parallel, and is limited to 4 batteries, so I'll have to have a separate bank with switching capability .
Thanks again and Happy Turkey Day week end to all
Cheers J.T.

House 1 is bottom of pic, the 280 AH Litime in a battery box that will be removed along with the battery. The platform the box sits in is a piece of work, a 2" wood frame around the box and on a sturdy platform.

So the old batt and the box will be gone and the Epoch 460 will be cradled in there nice and I won't have to lift the 80 pound 460 up over the box, just up 2 inches into the frame. It's gonna be sweet!

1060 AH of lithium power!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too JT!
Thanks.
Well, I got my new Epoch 460 essentials battery with in a week and looking forward to the new install after the new year. Now comes the question about fusing this beast. My electrical demand is minimal and plan on stay with a 225 amp fuse using 2/0 cable to a 1/2/all/off switch which is rated at 300 amps. Will a 400 amp rated class "T" fuse holder with a 225 amp fuse be compliant with ABYC E11 standards? It's very difficult to find a definitive answer on the forum.
Cheers and happy holidays
J.T.

A class T is usually good for up to 400Ah battery, so you need to up it to meet ABYC IMO. 5000 per 100A

Yes, I've been trying to correspond with Mersen and Little Fuse but hitting a wall. Epoch suggested one of their dealers, but what they offered was just a 400 amp "T" fuse. Still just short what is needed for a 460 amp battery (25K AIC). I'll keep searching but wont need until spring.
Cheers J.T.

I think either of these two A3T fuses will fit in the Blue Seas class T fuse holder sold at your local chandlery, but you would be smart to check the dimensions yourself.

Both also, according to Mersen have an AIC of at least 50,000 Amps.

Yes, that's how I read it also. AI kicked in and noted that the fuse holder must be able to handle 50k AIC also. I'm not seeing that on the Blue seas spec sheet. Any Ideas on a holder with that AIC rating?
Cheers J.T.

As far as I know the fuse holder has no AIC rating. The holder is just some plastic for convenience of mounting, in these the fuse and cable are connected by a copper bar. If we are being pedantic, the cable has to also meet the AIC rating, and we know it won't take 50,000A.

AIC is not about the cable it's about the fuse. Of course the cable will not do 50000 amps, but it will do it longer than the fuse will. When the 50,000 amps hits the fuse it's going to explode in milliseconds. What happens after that event is is purpose. It has to interrupt that current w/o maintaining an arc.

Exactly. And in the event of a massive short like that, if the fuse failed to break the circuit due to insufficient AIC, then the cable will have time to heat up and burn, potentially causing a fire. Because the cable can't handle that amperage it's critical to make sure that a worst possible case short is still interrupted very quickly.

That said, resistance in the wiring (particularly as you get further into the system from the batteries) may limit the worst case short circuit current that needs to be interrupted. But for a primary battery fuse or the main system fuse I wouldn't count on that making any difference.
