In a massive home remodel, I am culling about 30 feet of bookshelves. In that process I have come across two sets of the Fine Line "Inside Passage" planning charts in excellent condition. No, I have no idea why I would have two pairs.

I'm offering these free to one (actually, two) of you guys who says, "Next year..." or "someday...". Veterans need not apply (I mean you, Dhays, Ksanders, et al). Drop me a message, relating your dream and I'll cover the postage. These used to sell for $40/pair; no idea what they are worth today.

We are interested!

We putted fairly extensively in our Albin 25 and have moved up to a Nordic Tug 26. Still fixing up years of deferred maintenance and hoping to catch up on our excursions. We have talked about Alaska for years and now we have the boat. I have followed you guys and your pals for years on TF. These charts could really help us see what is actually involved.

Thanks for your generous offer. What do you need from us?

INTERESTED!! I'll send you a PM.

Can you board from the side of the cockpit if you go in bow first? I wouldn't be thrilled about backing in there, but bow first doesn't look bad.

Hey!!! I resemble that comment!!! 😂

We will be in Alaska next year. This year we are exploring the pacific coast of America. 🤓

Just send me a P.M. with a postal address. Responses are more two, but you have a good chance

We watch Tom Cunliffe's video on YouTube. His videos, shot in what I presume is an office in his house, show interesting decoration. He has used old charts as wall paper. :) Not sure my wife would allow it but I sure like what Cunliffe did with the office. LOL

Having waded through the overwhelming response in my PM inbox..

The winners are

Diep, who not only wrote the longest response, he included a loving paean to paper charts and analog nav in general. The fact that he is a fellow Oregonian had no bearing in the matter.

WillieC2, mostly because he seemed most eager to see the world in his new big boat.

Honorable Mention to Uisce Beo, who is living the dream on his narrowboat, but international postage seemed to be a "deal-breaker."

You may be the most Alaskan of all of us. Extra points for each winter in Whittier

OK, how about 6 winters in Whittier working week on week off
over 10 winters winters on the north slope working two or three on - off
living on the boat in Seward 6 winters

I understand cold and snow.

Thanks Alaska Prof!!

And yes, we LOVE paper charts and maps!

Just last week I was researching an area with an online ENC viewer, a PDF of the raster chart and a PDF of the Coast Pilot. I was thinking how much of a pain it was, even with multiple screens, compared to a finger in a book and a finger on a map...

My Admiral uses these charts a lot to look at a area at 30K ft.

Got ASD packed for the trip north. Start looking at weather windows May 1st.

Obviously you two would have been in the excluded cohort, but I'm glad to hear you already had yours.

Stay tuned, I may have another attractive offer.

Thanks again AlaskaProf!

I didn't tell my wife anything about this but I let her open the package after dinner. A couple hours later and we're thinking...

...How soon can we be ready to go?!

There is nothing like a good map to make the world seem big and one lifetime way too short. And these maps are GREAT.

Well played!

That is pretty much the scenario I was hoping for when I decided someone else needed these.

If you look closely at my original post, I seem to be measuring from Port Hardy to Pruth Bay, a good way-stop (free wi-fi, great beaches), but that would involve by-passing God's Pocket, which one should never do.
