Anyone have one of these on their propshaft?

Yes I know the bilge is dirty. :)
 
I first thought it must be a flexible coupling, but there’s rust on the red part, indicates that it’s likely just a spacer, probably filling the space where a flex coupling used to reside.
Suggest you take it apart and take more photos.

That's the thing...taking it apart. Maybe I'll start with the 4 nuts and move it aft to see what's there. Otherwise I'll see what those recessed fasteners are. I was hoping I'm not the only one who has one of these.
 
I saw that too. Kind of looks like that. Looks like those 4 bolts on the aft end that are recessed are the way to release the propshaft. We'll see. Thanks!
 
looks like a damper to me, like what a harmonic balancer does on a crankshaft.
