I have a 1986 34' Fu Hwa. It's in good running condition but looking a little weather worn on the exterior. My cap rail varnish is impossible to maintain in my rainforest environment and I plan to replace it with HDPE marine plastic but don't know how to remove the upright supports for the upper deck. I also have water seeping through the teak deck into the hold. Caulking the perimeter of the teak decking seems to have no effect on slowing down the water leaking in. Any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated!

Welcome aboard. How about some photos of the supports? The teak deck leaks are really tough to find. The leak could be coming from a long distance away or it could be right above where the water is dripping. Is the teak in good condition? If not then the best solution may be to remove the teak deck and fiberglass it. The core in the deck is probably wet and deteriorated. The removal and core replacement can be a lot of work, not too difficult technically but hard work nonetheless.
