Arrived at the boat yesterday to find my Vitrifrigo DT series refrigerator at 71 degrees. Needless to say, so much for everything stored within. I must confess I didn't have my front salon windows covered or a fan running so the salon interior was over 95 degrees. However to a lesser extent this frig has been hit and miss for temp. stability and assume it's lack of ventilation since I can't find any cabinet vents in the sides under the sink or stairs.
Has anyone added ventilation with good results. Where did you place new vents or fans? Any photos

this is on a p34. i added 2 temp controlled fans.....just because. on p34 the fridge compartment has a big hole in wall to vanity in head. after 3 years it works.

We had a Vitrifugo in our last boat that didn’t work well until I added 2 vents, 1 high and 1 low. Let cool in the low vent and the hot air out the top. I also added a computer fan to help push the hot air up and out. It had a terminal that would support a .5 amp fan but the one I used was .05 amp. The refer worked great then.

I agree with Comodave. I've had three 12 V fridges that needed better ventilation to improve performance. Looking at the pic I see louvers above the fridge. Are those to let warm air escape? If so your job is half done. Investigate the area under the stairs to the left of the fridge and inside the cabinet to the right. If you still have the manual and if it shows a drawing of the fridge where the compressor is located that will help. As much air as you can provide and a fan to assist.

But at 71 degrees box temp in a 95 degree cabin you may have other problems. I've had two thermostats go out.
