I have a 1978 Prairie 29 with reverse AC and Heat unit. I have a Marine Systems reverse AC and Heat unit. All of a sudden the compressor doesn’t come on. I turn switch own and pump comes on. Pumping real good water force thru system. Turn the switch to on and compressor doesn’t kick in. What should I check. Thanks

Get a multi meter and start following the voltage. There will be a power and neutral going to the unit. See if you have voltage at that point. If you do then follow the voltage into the control box, through the various relays to the compressor.

If the compressor has voltage and fails to work then it’s dead. More likely you have a bad fuse, relay or sensor switch.

Is it possible that the temperature outside would be too cold for compressor to kick on. It seem to heat up when I turned it to warm for heat but the compressor wasn’t running

Cold water is is good for air conditioning but bad for heating. The compressor is needed to make heat or cold. If it is actually making heat then it sounds like a valve problem. Still, I would follow the voltage and confirm that the compressor is actually working.

Update on AC Compressor. When putting wires back on capacitor that’s when I noticed had the curled piece of a female connector had broken off. Changed 3 loose connectors and put back on. Compressor fired right up. Terminal was just worn out. Thanks for all your help.
