I've decided that rather than me trying to securely stabilize our RIB while on the davits with the motor installed, it's easier to stop it from swinging wildly without the added weight of the motor on it. I've also decided that removing a 90lb motor while the RIB is floating and lugging the motor up the ladder to the back deck is something I would've done 20 years ago but not now. We'll miss the extra horsepower but we're going to go with a lighter ,single cylinder 6 horsepower that'll be easier to remove.
I didn't buy it new; I picked up the RIB, motor and trailer locally last summer to use as our dink. THe PO said he only used it to fish when he was visiting family that lived on the water and that he took good care of it. It shows as new and the few times we've used it, it ran like a top and started up immediately, even after the fuel had been drained. It's a short shaft electric start model, but I removed the cables (included) and used it as a manual start.
Local pickup and cash only at our house in Kilmarnock VA (our dock is just off of the Chesapeake 10 miles South of the Potomac River if someone wanted to pick up via waterway.

$1450/best reasonable offer or possible trade for 6 hp outboard in similar condition and of similar value
