Cheers All!
Just purchased and found the port tank fill line or tank is leaking. In reading a few old posts here it sound like it must be the tank. How best can I access the tank and suggestions for a clean out and repair with resin? No manual and no build sheet...
Thanks Liam Mc

Welcome aboard. We had a 41 President. I was going to replace the tanks so I pulled the port engine and stacked it above the starboard engine. So then I had excellent access to the port tank. And then my back went out so I didn’t proceed with the project. I just cleaned everything up and reinstalled the engine. I sold the boat about 2 years later. The new owner said the tank started leaking about 2 years after he bought the boat. With the engines in place there was really no access to the tank. I would guess the 43 is pretty similar to the 41. Good luck.

I am the guy who bought Como Dave's President 41'. After the tanks failed I determined that corrosion ate through the bottoms. Poor design that traps moisture/condensation under the tanks. They have no access panels in them to get inside and repair. At least mine didn't. So my only option was to R&R. As luck would have it I found a guy in Kingston Ontario who has done this repair twice now on Presidents. He has a lift to pull one engine at a time to gain access to the tanks. He has CAD models of the tanks that go back in albeit they have less capacity to get them through the door. I had him add huge access panels so in the future this problem can be better managed. As well as just being able to clean the tanks in the future. He can fabricate the tanks for you in aluminum plate. I do not know if he can do this R&R though because he was close to retiring and it took him a very LONG time to finish our job. Many months. On the positive side the work was good and the price was half what anyone else quoted us. The guy's name is Tom Wroe, the company is Metalcraft Marine on Wolffe Island Ontario. 613-536-8224. If you want to discuss I can be reached at: 920-420-3273 or by E-mail: dave@davinciec.com. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Tom is still going strong, he does not own Metal craft any more but still looks after the dry dock, and yes he is still on Wolfe Island. We keep our boat at Metalcraft year round. Tom is a very good guy, and very knowledgeable, but alas not that fast. But worth the wait
