• Trawler Forum Classified Posting Guidelines
    • We expect ads placed to be related to the topic of this forum.
    • Ads that are inactive for 180 days or longer may be moved to the Classified Archive and locked. Ads may be relisted if the item is still current. Alternatively, owners may contact a Moderator to reinstate an archived ad.
    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)
    • Don't post links to commercial sites where you are also offering the boat, such as eBay, Craigslist or Yachtworld, etc. unless it contains a more in-depth description, additional information or pictures.
    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)
    • Don't forget to select: FOR SALE, WANTED or FREE in the Title block.
All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. When your item has sold or the ad is no longer relevant: Please post a Reply to the ad that the item is SOLD or click "Report Post" on post 1 of the thread to ask a moderator to archive the ad. Ads may be moved or removed by our staff at any time for any reason. All ads must comply with site rules. Thanks for your cooperation.
  • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

Vessel Name
Rocinante
Vessel Make
Bayliner 3888
My well loved boat "Rocinante".

She is docked in Campbell River, BC, Canada.
40000$ CAN. I am the owner.

Reasonably priced for a quick sale as we are moving on to Bayliner 3888.

A 1980 Mainship 34. Unique as it has an extended aft platform 3ft which is a great swim platform.

Aft deck has a hard top - which is a nice upgrade for the shade and storage. Fwd V berth sleeps comfortably two adults or 3 children.

For sale with 12ft long Walker Bay dinghy and 2021 6HP Tohatsu 4 stroke engine. The boat has bow thrusters making it very easy to manage by just one person. Raymarine autopilot makes it very easy to cruise around the Gulf Islands and beyond. Has an electric marine toilet. Holding tank for 20 Gal.

There are full covers from the boat - 360degree canvas/plexiglas for the sun bridge. Full enclosure for the aft bridge. Those covers are old and weathered.

Cruising speed is 6-8kn. Max speed 10kn. She is very economical to run - using one liter of diesel for one mile - this is at 7kn. The engine time is 4010 hours.

Twin solar powers have enough energy to keep your batteries charged off the grid at all times.

In the summer they produce enough energy to keep the fridge and additional standing freezer running no problem. There is ample energy storage due to extended AGM batteries.

There is a 4KW diesel Gen-Set which produces more than enough electricity when off grid. It has only 300hrs.

Diesel furnace ( Eberspacher )is working great and keeping the boat warm and comfortable even through the coldest days.

We have been using the boat as a family - 2 adults and 3 children for 3 years. During this time we visited Desolation Sounds, explored the Gulf Islands. We never had a problem with her.

-------------------------------

Since I bought this boat in 2019 I did spend 20K on upgrades and repairs:

2019 I changed all the seacocks to Marvelon plastic ones. They will work forever.

2020 electrical upgrade. Inverter/charger Xantrex 2000XE installed, battery monitor installed. I rewired the whole boat according to the Pacific Yacht Systems from Vancouver. All lines have circuit breakers and have appropriate caliber to the load. There is a pre switch and after switch Bus Bar. I installed wifi controlled solar panel voltage regulators. A Galvanic isolator was installed.

Battery separator was installed to ensure that the starter battery gets all the loading and no use.

Batteries were changed from acid lead batteries to AGM batteries - Four - Firefly Gr31 12v 110 Amp-Hr Carbon-Foam AGM Battery are working as a house bank and there is an AGM started battery too.

Alternator was changed, due to battery specification voltage requirements - I installed Balmar 60 with an external voltage controller - ARS - 5.

June 2020 New navigation and anchor light was installed, I laid new lines for them as old ones did not work at all.

New lewmar windlass was installed and I rewired the electric lines to it.

New electric toilet was installed and I changed half of the plumbing pipes too.

August 2020

41 meters (120ft) new chain 5/8 was replaced and 300ft of anchor line.

March 2021 Old electric kitchen removed, wood platform made and a 30A electric plug installed to run a mobile induction plate for cooking Working very well.

March to May 2021 New aft bilge pump installed. Exhaust covered with heat shield. Removed all soundproofing layers under the floor of the main cabin and installed new ones. Improved sound dampening. Hydraulic lines fixed and position for the Autopilot magnetic antenna corrected - now the autopilot works perfectly fine.

I did build a foldable table which is big enough for 4 ppl in the aft deck. Resting position it is completely out of the way.

----------------------

This boat is very well equipped and maintained. Service and haul out was done once a year. The Engine was serviced in March or April each year. Last service was done in April 2022.

Water pump impeller changed in 2021.

Hope that this is not too many details...

Interested. Has a recent survey been done?

Hello. No recent survey. The one I have is old, before any work was done to the boat.

Sent a PM.
