Cheoy Lee 40' LRC
Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I just recently bought a 40' Cheoy Lee LRC that is in need of a lot of love. Him and I are both merchant mariners so we have a lot of time on our hands when were off of work to get some serious work done. Our first project has been stopping the water leaks coming from the portlights in the forward and aft heads, we both go back to work soon and have the walls ripped down and the portlights ready for re-installment. Our big question for y'all is what company you have used for your v-berth mattresses. We are hoping to have forward head complete and the v-berth done first to be able to move onto the boat and complete the rest of the renovations. We understand it will most likely be a lot of $$ for the cushions but we want something comfortable that will last long. Wondering if y'all could give us some ideas as well as pricing because a lot of the places online don't have the option for pricing. It is a v-berth split into two twins not one in the middle. Thank you in advance!

I have actually given this some thought and the next time I need this I am going to order a large memory foam mattress, cut it to shape and have an upholstery shop make a zippered cover to enclose it. Sorry I don't have anyone to recommend, but that is my advice.

Welcome aboard. Custom mattresses are pretty pricey and may not be comfortable. On our last 3 larger boats we have bought memory foam mattresses and cut them to size then either made covers or customized sheets for them. We just did a queen vee berth for our Formula 41PC. It cost about $350 and used an electric knife to cut it to shape. Then a set of sheets modified to fit.
