    Yep the drive on a gas turbine is a balance of shaft RPM and pitch. The more pitch the faster the boat goes. But also more power required to turn the shaft. So to run high speeds all four GTMs need to be online and turning then you just keep increasing the pitch. And away you go:dance:

    We have a contract on the house in New Jersey closing in Dec. Also closing on the much smaller place in Delaware City De. in Dec. Step 1 of our downsizing is almost complete. No regrets so far. :-)

    This is the same as I experienced on the ships I was stationed on. I do not know if commercial vessels are any different. Pretty sure the nav team is smaller.

    My 2ed ship was the USS Saginaw LST-1188. Shallow draft lots of roll and oh did I mention SLOW. This is what she looked like with the bow ramp down.

    Beginning the Search in Puget Sound

    Welcome aboard. Like you will soon be I am retired Navy (83-2004). Just beginning the process of finding the right boat. We are going to our first boat show (Trawler Fest) on the 25th in Baltimore. This is a great place to get 1st class information so sit back copy the traffic and enjoy the ride.
