    Watermaker Repair

Hello, I have a pickled Village Marine reverse osmosis water maker circa '79 to '85. Looking for someone in the SF Bay Area to do a total overhaul. Called Village Marine and they recommended someone in LA which doesn't work for me. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

great to hear! I really liked that boat. Can't believe you are taking it up the coast right off the dribble. You must have some coastal experience.

We Became Official Yacht Owners Today!

Is this the boat berthed near the Antioch bridge? Green carpet, cool previous owner, Marc B the broker? I looked at it in Feb. it was an instant front-runner. Congratulations.

    San Francisco area. marinas

With all do respect, forget about the fresh/ salt water thing. You're retired and walk in malls for health and entertainment. Live, not a little, a lot. Get a slip in Marin....stunningly beautiful with easy walks to food, entertainment. I assume you're old. Who cares if your boat rots away (and...

    SF Bay overnight anchorage

Made it to Ayala around 4p Saturday. Scored a outter mooring ball. The crew learned to operate the hook and moor on the fly. I fought the wind and we looked like pros's. thanks for everyone's contribution to this thread: having lots of new line allowed me to sleep like a baby....a drunk baby...

    SF Bay overnight anchorage

Great call on the length of line! I need more. As a boat warming gift I got a Robship hook and moor. Excited to use it. http://sections.latitude38.com/news/robship-hook-moor-boat-hook

    SF Bay overnight anchorage

Just got off the phone with the ranger. 50 to 55 feet no problem. He said the mooring balls along the outside perimeter are the deepest, 7 to 10 feet. Getting there earlier around 4p will help secure a spot. The mooring balls are color coded. Yellow to yellow, red to red etc. Bow and stern need...

    SF Bay overnight anchorage

Thank you for your insight. I researched the mooring balls at Ayala Cove and feeling pretty good about that. Plus will give me a chance to use my new mooring ball hook. Looks like a 60-foot boat can fit into outer row.

    SF Bay overnight anchorage

Hello forum, I'm looking for a beautiful calm spot to spend one night on the hook ideally near Angel Island/Marin. This is my first overnight on the Bay (I'm berthed in Alameda). What regulations/laws am I up against? Seems perfectly logical to me to anchor near Angel Island near raccoon...

    Bay Area Canvas Makers

Looking for a recommendation for someone to build a custom Bimini enclosure for my flybridge. I'm based in SF but anyway in the bay is cool. DO NOT USE ANDY FROM GRAND MARINA IN ALAMEDA. Apparently accountability and attention to his customers is furthest from his mind. I've been calling for...

    Offers to purchase

The comment above from the lawyer was predictable. Don't worry about splitting hairs on the definition of the word "success." Brokers contracts are toothless. You go on the sea trial and all you need to say is "nope" and the sales agreement is off. To that point, make lots of offers. During...

Totally use a marine title company. I'm still waiting for a lien to be removed before I take ownership. And yes, it is a buyers market hands down. In the SF Bay Area it is.

Howdy, Doing the sea trial today for "hopefully" my new boat and we came upon this historic and classic yacht. President Roosevelt used this during his presidency. It's my understanding one of the smokestacks is actually an elevator. Was told Elvis owned this, too. I haven't done my research...
