Detroit Diesel 8.2 Oil Pan Gasket

I have a friend with a DD 8.2 who is in need of a new silicon oil pan gasket. Part number is 8922786. He has searched high and low for one and has called places he found on the internet but they don’t have them in stock. Seems to be back ordered since November. Anyone have a great source that...

    Dinghy Dock Limits

Thanks again. Hearing the experience of others is super helpful. Yes, I’m on the east coast. Currently Maryland but have spent time in New England and will be heading south next year.

    Dinghy Dock Limits

I wanted to thank everyone for their input. I asked the question because I’m partly in the “are you kidding me” camp. So I appreciate the spirit and tone in which the comments were offered. You have confirmed my experience as well…it’s going to depend on where we are, and sometimes it would be...

    Ceramic Coatings

That’s my understanding as well re: undrdog. I find the whole marketing side of ceramics confusing and hard to determine which are for real. So I deferred to the dealer who was going to stand behind it. So far so good. But still early days. I’ll be interested to see where you land after all...

Apparently they used to use Ceramic Pro but switched several years ago. It’s only been two years and it lives under roof...

    Dinghy Dock Limits

Thank you for the reply. It’s nice to hear your experience is that of little limitations. We are in the Chesapeake and have limits in a few ports. Yes, our boat has a 19’ beam, but our tender actually sits on the fly bridge and runs lengthwise, not across the beam. So 14’ fits just fine...

    Dinghy Dock Limits

I am purchasing a new tender and was curious what experience people have had with dinghy dock size limits. The new tender will either be 13’ or 14’ depending on which model I pick. My experience is that any docks with limitations are normally 12’. Our current tender is 13’ and I’m wondering if...
