    Mainship 390 wiring trunk

Take the cables off the upper control and see if it works freely. Then the lower one. My upper control shift side broke, due to what I thought was a bad cable. Once i got the cables off I found it needed greasing. --Kevin P.s- label the cables as you remove them.

    Salon FLoor Refinishing....

Thanks all. And now to open another can of worms, what did you use to apply oil based poly (gloss and satin)? It will likely be on the cool side when I do the application, if that makes a difference. --Kevin

    Salon FLoor Refinishing....

Wondering what the reason for x coats of gloss THEN a coat of satin is? Just trying to educate myself. Thanks all for the responses. --Kevin

    MS 3560 390 folding ladder

I refinished mine. At $810-$1k for a ladder there was no way I could afford a new one. The hard part is getting it out. I made new receiver brackets slides (aluminum) and stripped off the rubberized coating wherever it was falling apart. Then painted with rustoleum. I think I had one part...

MS 350 390 back door and side door runners

For the side door (2000/390) you want two of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KKXCCI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Identical fit. Kind of a project to get the door off but it's do-able. I removed as much of the lower track as possible. Then raised the wheels...

    Salon FLoor Refinishing....

I'm hoping to find some consensus (ha-ha) for a finish on my teak/holly (veneer) salon floor . Boat is a mainship 390 2000. I am scraping off the old finish, down, gently, to the wood. I would like to end up with a finish that looks like varnish, has a satin sheen and is as rugged as...

MS 390 chair for lower helm

Helm chair It's 'part' of the sofa. Actually a separate part but like a couch end with a flip up seat. I cant get a pic atm as i have the salon taken apart for floor refinishing. --kevin

MS 390 chair for lower helm

We have a lower helm flip up chair in our 390. But I needed a place to sit while wife drives or for her while I drive. We got a tall director chair and just fold it up when not in use. Not good when it's rough. Get a good quality one is my recommendation. Don't go cheap here as it will...

    For Sale: Weaver Snap Davits

I bought a boat that had the snap latches on the swim platform. SO I bought the pads and brackets and glue only to find out I cant get them attached to my inflatable. Too many other pads / handles in the locations I need to stick to. So I have the entire setup for sale. These are about $370...

    Sort of a loop

rslifkin - I agree. We aren't casting any of the route in stone, except avoiding erie and welland canal. So that should give us flexibility on weather concerns especially in easter lake ontario. We're also hoping not to move every day, so a day here and there waiting for a more comfortable...

    Sort of a loop

Ok on decal info and possible usefulness for single entry. Cartouche - I totally get it re: swells on the bean in a MS390. Will most likely follow that path. --Kevin

    Exhaust elbow....

I decided to buy the correct f/g elbow. Mainly due to the heat rating. I did not get the crush sleeves but I will. I mocked up the angle from the mix elbow to the remaining undamaged hose and its like 43 degrees. So i got a 45 elbow and will get a length of silicone hose to go from 45 elbow...

    Exhaust elbow....

The borel alarm seems simple and inexpensive. Comodave - you're happy with that? I dont think i need temperature measurement, just an alarm specific to exhaust water. Will the borel work on silicone exhaust hose? On the good side, i got the bad section of hose cut out. Today i measured the...

    Exhaust elbow....

Thanks all. The super-flex hose would be most simple. Ill definitely look at that. Thanks ken. Will also have a look at centek. I could take a 6" diameter straight tube and make my own custom shape (2 - 15 deg cuts...). Im aware of sbmar and im a member on the site . I'll probably...

    Exhaust elbow....

I need to replace the 1-2 ft section of rubber exhaust just where it begins at my mixing elbow. It got overheated. Operator error. Long story. Anyway, it was originally installed with a significant bend. When it got hot the bend collapsed. I have cut off the bad spot. What i want is a...

    "Break" Adhesive Bond Between Materials

I vote for lwarden's solution. Wood shim wedges from hardware store. Just need enough heat (warmth really) to soften the sealant then get a wedge started, then another and so on. You may use 20 wedges per step. A pack is about $2. --Kevin

    Sort of a loop

We will have bikes to make grocery getting / errands a bit easier. Water has been holding out 4-5 days or more per refill. Shore power only needed for a/c if its really hot. Holding tank seems to last 3-4 days. --kevin

    Sort of a loop

Starting to wonder- what to bring as we set out. From western li sound and up the hudson river are not remote areas. Grocery shopping / hardware / marine supply in erie canal / rideau / richleau? Upper champlain will be kind of remote i guess. Then we're definitely back in civilization as...
