Removed teak frames and the glass .. then cut a new frame to fit into the existing opening that is 2” wide out of 1/2” plywood..fit that new frame flush to the exterior of the cabin …fiberglassed it all in and repainted … then installed new glass from inside cabin onto plywood frame with 3M...

Take a cut off wheel and cut the existing elbow to any degree you want

Start the engine and see if prestone is coming out the exhaust when it starts ...if that is happening it’s the exhaust elbow on the motor ..

Hey John ... it’s joe ... I had 28 Lang I was redoing ..well things changed and I picked up beautiful trawler last season ... I wound up selling the Lang ... had it about 80%done ...keep them alive ... great boat ... enjoy it ..

I rolled and tipped awlgrip... from 10’ away it looks fantastic... that’s with minimal surface prep ... no brush marks ..

I did mine also .. watch some videos and give it try .. not that bad to do ...cost of paint and supplies was under 1 k ...

Update .. after changing that exhaust elbow casket and cleaning heat exchanger... all looks good so far ... no more coolant going out the exhaust

I changed the elbow gasket & had my heat changer cleaned and tested ... all installed but waiting to put boat in water .. at least another month yet ... hopefully it should be fine ...can’t really be anything else ... I no head gasket is good .. what else is left ??

I’ve done it on decks before and it’s worked great ...it was on a cockpit deck that was removable ..about 8’ x 7’ ... added the glass underneath... worked great

I have a 32 IG and wondering if anyone has ever changed the original brass strips to another material or style ... or if they’ve ever cleaned or polished the brass and How they did it ... I’ve looked up stainless half rounds but the prices are ridiculous around 40$ per foot..
