Regarding maintenance, has the bottom ever been refastened? I would hope at least once and maybe ready for a second go round.

You might want to check when was the last time the bottom was refastened? If it needs to be done, prepare to spend major $$ to have it done

I just did a quick google…there is a website devoted to classic aluminum boats from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Probably a better place to look for info than a trawler forum.

As others have said, yes, this is typical. In fact, when dealing with a broker, most won’t even start the engine without a signed agreement.

Be careful about fonts. Most states clearly say reg numbers have to be block style. Fancy fonts could easily get you stopped by a LEO.

In VA, the numbers have to be on the forward half of the boat. Registration sticker on the same line following the numbers. I can’t say for sure, but I’m guessing most states are the same. Being in VA, registration for documented boats is optional, so no registration sticker for me.

CO2 sensors are a problem on my boat killing batteries. I have special breakers to turn them off which I do.

Another vote for Cetol. If I recall, I did 3 coats of the natural finish and 3 coats of the gloss coat. Very happy with the results and WAY easier to do than varnish.
