    Roughwater

Sorry for your loss. We have a 1977 Rough Water 41 and ours is in the same place, port side deck just aft of the forward salon windows. The black water tank is amidships (between the engine bed stringers) forward of the engine in the engine room. If you have problems pumping it out, check to...

    Nordhavn 40...lack of side decks

Roughwater 41 Bravo We also are sailors but spend time in the PNW on our 41' trawler. It's a Roughwater 41, single screw pilothouse with minimal sidedecks. Just the Admiral and I most of the time and we've had minimal issues docking and that's without a thruster. Lots of good advice given...

    Parts for Bowman heat exchanger

I agree with other posters that you should be able to find the o-rings yourself versus shipping them in from the UK. Of course, complicated by the fact you're in the USVI's. I'd pull the caps and micrometer the orings dims. If there's not an o-ring supplier in St. Thomas, must be one in Miami...

    Bad Fuel Tanks

Lots of great advice, as always, on the forum. I've replaced aged mild steel diesel tanks that were locked in by the engine. Got in there with a sawzall, cut them out and used the pieces for templates for a stainless steel fabricator to make two slightly smaller tanks. Lot of personal labor...

    Looking for boat PNW

Hi Earrame Wow, lots of response to your inquiry, that's great. We're considering selling our 1977 Roughwater 41, based in Anacortes, Wa inside on the hard. She's a single screw pilothouse that's been repowered with a Pekins 235hp turbo. All new electronics and the boat has been totally gone...

    Winterizing Anchor / Cockpit Washdowns?

Our boat is in the PNW, stored indoors offseason but I still go through the hassle of draining all the F/W system. I've installed tees with caps on the leg of the tee to facilitate using compressed air to blow out all the lines. It's a pain in the butt to do the work but the tees have made the...

    Prop snuffbox

Rizlajon, Rich may be right in his assessment. Blowing up the photo is does look to have a zerk grease fitting. I thought it was a rusted hose clamp nut. I'm not familiar with this type of packing; best bet would be asking around your local boatyard to see if anyone is familiar with it and can...

    Prop snuffbox

Congratulations on your first boat. It is a standard packing gland, aka "stuffing box". Google "repacking a stuffing box" and you'll get a lot of hits on how to do it. Or better yet, do a search on the forum for it and there must be some past threads on doing the procedure.

    Roughwater

New Roughwater 41 owner checking in Hello swabbies! Just purchased Voyager, a Roughwater 41 we'll keep in Anacortes for cruising the beautiful Pacific NW! The longtime owner (guy who loved his boat and took it to Alaska numerous times) I hope to meet one day to swap stories and learn all the...
