If water is getting in your fuel tank, the Raycor filter should catch it unless it is so much that it overflows the filter and gets into the engine. I think that the 4LV is a common rail injected and these are very sensitive to sea water. The generator is not common rail so it tolerates water...

I used a similar one to heat up the cabin in the morning. I plumbed it directly to the on board propane tank. But I would never use it overnight. Too risky as all of the combustion gasses stay in the cabin. David
