We keep our boat at North West Creek Marina, 7 miles from New Bern. We are considered a hurricane hole. They hadn’t lost a boat until Florence. Long story there and water was up 12 ft from normal. (Boatyards lost boats during that storm). Not fancy, but good….and a good community. Pecan...

Interesting conversation. Our marina in New Bern was recently acquired by an investor and will be managed by Oasis Marinas. Does anyone have any experience with Oasis? They seem to manage many marinas along the East coast, several that we have thought about visiting.

It is a Doubletree now. We are down river a bit at Northwest Creek. We have neighbors who do winterize because they are gone all winter. Our marina turns off water when temps are below freezing and turn it back on when they rise, usually with enough notice to make arrangements. Most folks...

Seamark has a tendency to mildew quite a bit in hot humid environments. We had linen tweed seamark on our previous trawler with a three sided enclosure in NC. We had to remove the Bimini a few times a year to clean the mildew off. Not a big deal, but it does mildew in certain environments...

We have a marina neighbor that adapted a weed eater as a long reach buffer! I just go out on ours....very carefully.....we are thinking of a couple stripes of nonskid out there.

Just throwing it out there.....a Bayliner 4788 with the three cabin layout might work well for a growing family. Not a trawler, and bigger than the wish list....but worth a look for sure.

Thermacell works for us in NC. Put it out 15 minutes ahead and it clears the area up to like 10-15 feet.

True, there are several options out there, just none fit our space for the sofa. The entry door is not our problem, it has been the footprint available. This one does fit and looks pretty good doing it. ?

We have inflatables, specifically for easy storage. Got both from West Marine. Around holidays you can find them super cheap! We love them!
