    Electric steering

I have a Raymarine. Yes it’s the helms that I’m looking for. A normal sized wheel connecting to my existing elec/hydraulic pump.

    Electric steering

I’m really talking about electric at the helm. The rudder is still moved using the Raymarine hydraulic pump.

    Electric steering

Not talking about autopilot steering. Everyone of your cars are steering at 80mph with electric steering boxes[emoji33]I’m thinking it’s time for our trawlers to join the 21st century.

My thoughts exactly. I also have the same Raymarine setup.

How far offshore New Jersey to avoid crab/lobster traps?

I’ve never seen any in my ten runs.

    Electric steering

I think my Raymarine pump can turn the rudder faster than my helm. Electric/hydraulic seems to make more sense to me. I also want to raise the headroom in the shower under my lower helm.

    Tank thickness “gauge”

Does anyone know the typical thickness of our good old [emoji35]steel diesel tanks? I’m trying to figure out if I can use an air nibbler or shears to do some of the removal cutting. The shears or nibblers are good to 16 gauge.

    11’ Boston Whaler

I’m looking for a new home for my 11’ Boston Whaler 1977 and Johnson 25 1978. I don’t have hours but the engine seems very lightly used. I just restored the entire boat (top and bottom) including 3 coats of epoxy primer. I do not have a trailer. I used it as a tender on my DeFever 48LRC. There...

    Semi-displacement Ocean Crossing

My DeFever 48 LRC is considered SD by some but when you take a closer look at her hull I’d say she’s FD. Either way she has transatlantic range and capability no doubt. I’d definitely add fish to keep the crew happy though.

Ipe I used IPE and it still looks great 8 years later. Stronger and much cheaper than teak.
