I developed this in the early 2000's when I was a delivery skipper and an instructor at TrawlerFest. It's a bit dated - pay attention to modern electronics (if present on the boat) as they can be very expensive to tweak if needed.
Frequently the broker suggests scheduling the sea trial to be conducted on the way to the yard for haul. While not a hard and fast rule, I recommend splitting the two events apart - unless the buyer hires a skipper or mechanic, there are no costs for the sea trial so it makes sense to digest the information received on the sea trial before proceeding to an expensive survey.
