Connect SiTEX SVS-760C GPS to SiTEX T-760 Radar

I've connected the NMEA 183 output from the SiTEX SVS-760C GPS to the input of the SiTEX T760 Radar. Sitting in my slip with engines off, the connectivity is good and I get GPS position updates showing on the radar. When I'm underway, however, I'll sometimes get initial position and then the...

Over heating with a load on

Had a similar issue with my starboard engine this weekend. Suggest you take a look at the belt tension for the fresh-water pump. Mine was quite loose and may have been the culprit. (Full disclosure, haven't tightened the belt or tested the 'fix' yet, so I may be wrong, but still, something to...

    MMSI Bandit

Interestingly, I just purchased an Albin 43 in Maryland. When I went to transfer the MMSI from the PO to me, I found that the MMSI entered in the VHF was actually registered to a tug in Boston harbor! I ended up getting a new MMSI and resetting the VHF with the new number. I really wonder HOW...

    Surface Repair/Sealing

During the recent survey of our new boat (1985 Albin 43 Trunk Trawler), surface stress cracks and gelcoat crazing were found. In an effort to prevent moisture getting into the laminate, the surveyor recommends filling and sealing. A lot of these are at the junction of the hull side and deck...

    First Fuel Filter Change

Firehoser75 mentioned that his Cummins circulates 60GPH sending 58G back to the tank. Is there a way to find the circulation for my Lehman SP135 (without installing FlowScan equipment)? Trying to get a feel for how much polishing might be going on.

    First Fuel Filter Change

Just took possession of my new-to-me 1985 Albin 43 with twin Ford-Lehman 135s and wanted to change fluids/filters/etc. As I look at the existing filtration set up, I have a few questions/concerns. There is a Racor 500FG as primary and then two on-engine filters (secondary/final). My question...

    HIN doesn't match "standard"

Well I did indeed verify, without a doubt, that the last four digits are "M485" on the transom. So, it must be (thanks, Alfa Mike) build started in December 1984 on a 1985 model. Interesting that none of the so-called HIN decoders accept M485 as valid. Thanks for the help.

    HIN doesn't match "standard"

I’ll swing by the boat this evening to verify what’s on the transom and let y’all know.

    HIN doesn't match "standard"

Thanks Alfa Mike - I read many discussions about the numbers & letters never used and still didn't put two and two together.

    HIN doesn't match "standard"

I'm looking at the HIN for the boat I'm planning to buy (from the PO's insurance declarations page) and it doesn't meet the "standards" for decoding it. The last four digits are "M485" and I know it is a 1985 model. The "standard" states that 4 indicates the last digit of the year of...

    Airdraft Albin 43

I'm looking at an 1985 Albin 43 Trunk Trawler and wondering what the airdraft is (without the mast). I can't seem to find any discussion of it. Thanks

    Purchasing without brokers

Greg - as I recall you’re also in SoMD. Did you handle the taxes via DNR during registration?

    Purchasing without brokers

We have found our next boat and want to start the purchase process (put an offer, survey, etc.). We don't have a broker and neither does the seller - basically a FSBO deal. Are there checklists/documents/etc. available for DIY transactions (similar to FSBO in the real estate world)? If we...

    1998 Mainship 40 Sedan Bridge

Well today we saw the boat. The swim platform was spongy in areas and there was a LOT of water in the bilge. Something is leaking. In addition, the sanitation hose(s) may have permeated. The bilge was pretty odiferous. Liked the layout and feel of the model, just don't think this particular...

    1998 Mainship 40 Sedan Bridge

It doesn’t appear to be as the engines are also listed as 1998. Hoping to see it this weekend.
