Just a general conversational question. If you look back 15 years, there were tons of Grand Banks being produced at this size (weren’t there?), plus Mainships and others. So Mainship got bought by Marlow in the recession. And now Marlow only seems to make big, fancy yachts. GB doesn’t seem to...

The Cutwater 30 CB / Ranger 31 CB would be a great boat, but for that size, I think they should follow their smaller models and switch them to an outboard. I keep reading bad stuff about Volvo diesels, here and elsewhere. "The 48 in my moniker is my birth year." Same for my dad. :)

what's the anticipated price?

I like a lot of the points. I just want a fly bridge to be out in the air. The lower helms on these sorts of boats always seem too low and with poor visibility, especially with the bow riding higher.

I'm a long-term planner, so please humor me. Selenes seem like a great value. Why are they so much better-priced than, say, Kadey Krogen? To the uninitiated, both seem like very nice pilothouse full-displacement heavy trawlers with small-ish sized single diesels. I like them both, by the way.

The Endeavour is offering outboards now. Perhaps not for your cruising plans, but that's my long-term preference. Any thoughts on that?

I'm also a lurker with dreams of the Loop, although the timeline is a little longer. I should work about 15 more years, then I'll be 52. Until then, we enjoy our Manitou tritoon on the lake for skiing and tubing.
